Bad moment - was no beach near and everywhere in cafes and restaurants no wifi internet. no printed paper menu, it is needed to be scan by QR code with special application in mobile phone which need internet connection. Why no wifi? When in all other cities in Spain this option is available.

It's a very interesting and nice city.
It's a very interesting and nice city. People are very kind and pleasant. There are not as many tourists as in the south of the island. Living in a local neighborhood outside the center was very nice to interact with local people. There are many pleasant cafes and restaurants. There is also a great urban transport system of trams and buses. It is also a beautifully green city with many parks.

We have only ever visited during carnival which is extremely full-on everyday, so don't expect to feel rested after a holiday during that period. But do expect to feel exhilarated by the noise, music, costumes, fancy dress and joy. I think it would be a lovely place to stay outside of carnival as a city break in dependable warm weather. Its an easy bus trip to Playa de las Teresitas, and there are many efficient bus routes to other regions of the island. If you wanted to go off the beaten track car hire would be useful. Few if any organised trips start from Santa Cruz, for example, trips Mount Tiede tend to originate from the southern resorts. Much of the centre is pedestrianised. Its a city for locals so don't expect all menus to be translated. Food orientated towards local taste also, which is excellent IMO. Lots of good shops in the centre. No great permanent cultural highlights, although I understand the Tenerife Orchestra is one of the best in Spain.SarahUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10

Santa Cruz is a busy elegant city. Lots of restaurants and bars, Parks , The beach area is lovely but surrounded by port industrialisation. The new Lido on the front is excellent and well worth a visit. Excellent value for money.Christine - 10Scored 10

I love Santa Cruz de Tenerife,very nice,tidy,nice friendly people,great public transport. Lovely restaurants with sitting outside,nice food. Beautiful christmas lights,great atmosphere,mostly warm weather. A lot interesting things around to see.

Definitely can recommend the breakfast (to check if included/extra paid), which offers everything - fresh and tasty. The hotel is located close to a nice park and close by to the center of Santa Cruz.

I found the bed comfortable and, unlike the rest of the room, the bed sheets were clean. Temperature in the room was perfect during my stay in February but there is no air conditioning so I imagine it'll get hot in the summer. The room was dated but functional. Beautiful balcony views of the mountains and the harbor. It was priced more affordably than most hotels came with considerably more space, inserting three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
