Nice to have the Spa facilities, though very limited. The Restaurant was nice enough.

We liked everything about our recent stay. Our classic room at the lodge was superb and had everything you could wish for. The views from the restaurant whilst eating a fabulous breakfast are great and get you in the mood for heading out for the day. All the staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. We stay in Grasmere a lot and will certainly be revisiting this hotel.
If for any reason you don’t want to go out for the day your room and hotel offer plenty of facilities just to relax and unwind.

the location was ideal and after two days camping and running/walking competitively in the mountains it was so good to be welcomed so warmly and having the luxury of a double bed and super shower. Being offered a free 'high tea' on arrival, even though I was later arriving than anticipated, and nothing being too much trouble for the staff was the icing on the cake - excuse the pun. The riverside site was far enough back from the road to be free of any traffic noise and the surrounding grounds and views were great.

On arrival, and throughout the entire duration of our stay, staff were uttely brilliant. No request was too much trouble and they went above and beyond to ensure we were looked after. The use of spa facilities was excellent, and it was straightforward to book ourselves in for extra treatments. All of the food we had during our stay was sublime, and the set up of the breakfast buffet made the experience very enjoyable. Our meal in the main dining room, as well as the food and drinks we enjoyed in both the bar and the lounge, were fantastic. I cannot thank you enough for making our stay so memorable. I am extremely glad that I chose your hotel for our vacation as I propsed to my now-fiancee - you made our whole vacation special and memorable. Thank you so much!

The village and surrounding area was a joy, it gave us a very pleasant tranquil feeling from the moment we arrived. The views of the crags were awesome as they were from their summit,s. The food was amazing at Baldrys café/ tea room as was the service and staff, went there four days on the trot after our first visit.
Already looking forward to returning later this year.

This is a small village in picturesque surroundings. There is a very good bus service which makes it easy to avoid taking the car with the problem of parking. Keswick, Ambleside and Windermere all easy to reach by bus.

Grasmere is full of lovely walks, you don't have to wander far to be in a super stunning surrounding. The walk around the lake is a pretty easy one to follow mainly flat and has a direct path so hard to get lost, but theres definitely opportunities to wander further a field, up into the hills, or over to the caves also from here. The lake is also a great place to paddle board or boat around, it's large enough and not too busy.
We absolutely loved Mathilde's Café at the Heaton Cooper Studio, the food was just delicious and such a pretty shop, great little seating spot outside providing blankets for al fresco dining. Sam Read Bookshop was also worth a look, there are a number of really lovely shops aside from all the main tourist hot spots in Grasmere. We also enjoyed a drink at Tweedies bar which had a lovely atmosphere and be a great place in the summer as it had a lovely beer garden setting to sit outside.

It was beautifully situated ans very tastefully decorated.
It was beautifully situated ans very tastefully decorated. The only downside is there wasn't a shower in our room and I have mobility issues. Also no full length mirror. The bathrooms are rather small, we burnt ourselves on the radiator a few times using the toilet. Obviously that wouldn't be a problem in Summer. I would stay there again but would want a room with a shower which would also give more room to move around.
The food was really good we ate there each night. Bit confused with breakfast. One day we got two slices of bacon the next day one and the poached eggs we're hit and miss, but there was plenty buffet which was excellent.
All in all a lovely place to stay with lovely staff, places to visit all around and breathtaking views.
The receptionist checked us in earlier, we got a Spacious room with a comfortable bed. The hotel is opposite the Wordsworth’s visitor center which is definitely worth visiting. The location of the hotel is excellent, Grasmere village is very picturesque, I particularly liked the caffe Mathilda which serves European style cakes and very good coffee. Food in the restaurant was excellent and service was brilliant . The spa treatment was very good and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Loved waking up to a beautiful view of the fells, even when the mist was down.Liked good choice of breakfast items.Particularly liked having option to having cooked breakfast freshly made as opposed to “buffet style”.Room was spacious, only downside was very small bathroom with shower cubicle, which was a little awkward,as my wife has mobility issues, but we managed.Staff at this Hotel are very friendly and go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay.A big thank you to you all.
Lovely historic, cosy country inn. The hotel is located close to Grasmere, about a mile away, on the main road between Ambleside and Keswick. We had a meal in the restaurant and the food was delicious. Our room was comfortable with a good sized bathroom and rainfall shower. The walls are quite thin so this is something to be aware of but we still had a good night's sleep. Definitely would stay again.
The lovely large room with views of the surrounding fells from both the front and back windows. The separate sitting room area. The decor - Quality fittings and Retro touches whilst maintaining the character. Great shower - bathrobes supplied. Enjoyed the breakfast with vegetarian options. Just a very short walk into Grasmere centre. Many Thanks to Mike and his Mum.
Location was very nice with an excellent view from the hotel which we loved. Lovely hotel grounds to walk in which also lead to a well frequented walk to Easdale Tarn. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was very well furnished and spacious with plenty of room to accomodate our dog too. Grasmere village was about half a mile drive or a nice walk.
This country house was delightful. Our room was comfortable and well-equipped. The shower particularly was great. We found some maps of local trails in the common room and decided to follow one of them - Easedale Tarn. Beautiful! Hosts were very welcoming as well. Our stay in Grasmere was really nice in no small part thanks to our accommodations here.
the food is still excellent despite the many other issues with the hotel. the staff did their best and work extremely hard to make you feel welcome and meet your needs. the location of the hotel is excellent and the car park is a bonus as many of the hotels and guest houses in Grasmere have limited parking.
Absolutely fantastic stay at Tweedies, our favourite place right in the heart of Grasmere. Everything was superb. The breakfast, the room all excellent and the staff deserve an award! Whilst slightly low on numbers, their heart and service were exemplary. Our room was also huge!
The bacon was excellent and the availability of juices, cereals and fruit etc was very good. The hotel was nicely positioned in the village of Grasmere, which was a beautiful place. Staff were very helpful and the free drinks, instead of room cleaning each day, was inspired.
The hotel was clean and tidy, the staff were very welcoming and friendly and couldn't help you enough.
We really enjoyed the breakfast as it was help yourself style buffet.
The location was in the heart of Grasmere with stunning scenery.
We would definitely stay again.
Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. Staff where excellent, attentive and on the ball. Breakfast was lovely, food was great. Lovely bar area and prices were not horrendous. Lovely feel to the hotel and was wonderful being in the centre of Grasmere.
Love, love, love this hotel. Our go-to in Grasmere. Not big or fussy like other hotels but a small, different, intimate place, where you can make friends or be left alone. Lovely quiet gardens to relax in but on doorstep to lovely Grasmere itself.
The location of the hotel is fantastic just on the edge of Grasmere with amazing grounds and views. The interior is done to an immaculate standard and the room was modern and comfortable with good amenities.
Phenomenal breakfasts. View of the lake was amazing. Easy walk into Grasmere Village and just across the road from Wordsworth's Dove Cottage. Plenty of free parking on site. A memorable place to stay.
Hotel is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Excellently located with great outside space and parking. Breakfast was delicious and the afternoon treats were a lovely touch.
Close to the center of Grasmere. Beautiful, spacious “cottage” room with a side yard with grass and umbrellas and sitting area. Delicious breakfast. Welcoming, helpful staff.
